 'Together
Again'
Evelyn Locke, Age 84, of Carrollton,
Ohio, passed away Sept. 18, 2009 at Aultman Hospital
following an extended illness.
She was born June 25, 1925 in Augusta, Ohio to Charles and
Rhoda Leatherberry. She graduated from Augusta High School
in 1943. She and her husband owned and operated Locke's
Market in Augusta in the 1950's and 1960's. She then was
employed for several years at First National Bank and
Cummings Bank in Carrollton. She later worked for her
brother-in-law, Tom White at Allstate Insurance.
She was a member of the Carrollton Church of Christ
(Christian-Disciples) and was a devoted mother, sister and
grandmother.
Surviving family members include two sons, Dr. Darrell
(Patty) Locke and Rick (Diana) Locke both of Carrollton; a
sister, Elaine (Tom) White of Carrollton; seven
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; extended family
members, Jerry and Sue Campbell of Green Cove Springs,
Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denton
Locke; and her daughter, Vicki Bailey.
Funeral Service will be Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at Carrollton
Church of Christ (Christian-Disciples) at 1 p.m. with Pastor
Mike Doak officiating. Calling hours will be Sunday, Sept.
20, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Allmon-Dugger-Cotton
Funeral Home in Carrollton and Sept. 21, 2009 from 12-1
p.m., one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Hospice of
Carroll County, Carrollton Baptist Temple or Carrollton
Church of Christ (Christian-Disciples) in Evelyn's memory.
