Ralph H. and Jessie B. Sheckler.
Ralph was an old residenter of Augusta, son of Bill Sheckler the old
storekeeper at Bill Crawford's store. Ralph was a man about
town, doing many things. It was his barn that is about falling
down when one enters Augusta from Minerva. He hauled coal and,
I suppose, did some farming someplace. He was always busy.
Jessie, his wife, died recently, the patriarch of Augusta. She
was on the cemetery board and knew much history of Augusta as a
result of her work for many years on this board.
The Sheckler family had children but I was not acquainted with them.
They were an excellent family and lived in the attractive house
across from the Masonic Hall in Augusta.
Augusta will not be the same without Jessie. |
