JIM L. RIESEN
Jim L. Riesen, age 60, of Alliance, died
Thursday, December 30, 2004 in his home following a courageous
battle with cancer. He was born October 10, 1944 in Kensington, OH
to the late Alfred and Marjorie (Pryor) Riesen. He was a letter
carrier for the Alliance Post Office for 32 years, a 1962 graduate
of West Branch High School, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam
Conflict and a member of the Alliance American Legion Post #166. He
was also a member of Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta and a
member of the Wed. Bowling League at Parkway Lanes in Alliance.
He is survived by wife, Linda (Kinsey) Riesen, whom he married
December 4, 1965; three daughters, Charlene Riesen of Norfolk, VA,
Mrs. Victor (Sara) Kubankin of Salem, and Mrs. Richard (Marcia)
Phillis of Salem; two sons, Matthew Riesen of Salem and Steven
Riesen of Casper, WY; four sisters, Mary Ann Sanor of Kensington,
Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Wise of Alliance, Mrs. Steve (Kathy) Perkins of
Minerva and Pat Wickline of East Liverpool; one brother, William
Riesen of Alliance; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren,
many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by three sisters, Rose Schrader, Barbara
Floor and Caroline Riesen; three brothers, Bruce Riesen, Jerry
Riesen and Richard Riesen.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Stillfork
Presbyterian Church in Augusta with Rev. Jim Rice officiating.
Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday
from 7-9 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and
also one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations
may be made to Alliance Hospice.
