William Harry "Bill" Ossler
William Harry "Bill" Ossler, 74, of Augusta, died suddenly in his
home, Monday, April 18, 2005. Born in Augusta, August 15,
1930, he was the son of Christina (Kinsey) Ossler and the late E. D.
"Bill" Ossler. He was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Navy
Reserve, and a member of the Stillfork Presbyterian Church.
Bill loved farming, camping and his family. He was a regular
platelet donor contributing over 125 times. He worked at Good
Roads Machinery for 20 years and then worked as a railroad repairman
for Conrail until his retirement in 1993. He is survived by
his wife, Arry (Horrigan) Ossler, whom he married October 1, 1950;
sons, William P. (Ruth) Ossler of Carrollton, Robert A. (Audrey)
Ossler of Minerva, James H. (Terri) Ossler of Augusta, Joseph H.
(Susan) Ossler of Rock Hill, SC; brothers, Thomas (Helenanne) Ossler
of Orlando, FL, John "Jack" (Patricia) Ossler of Augusta;
brother-in-law, Patrick (Dorothy) Horrigan of Carrollton; 12
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to his
father, he was preceded in death by great granddaughter, Jessica
Ossler. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in
the Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta with Rev. James Rice
officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery. Calling
hours will be held in the Bartley Funeral Home Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9
p.m., and one hour before services at the church. Memorial
contributions may be made to Stillfork Presbyterian Church.
