We have lost a pillar of the Augusta Community. Christina Kinsey Ossler lived a long and especially good life. She remained on the Kinsey family farm south of Augusta until she died. "Teeny" taught in the Augusta Schools for over thirty years--everyone had "Mrs. Ossler" for a teacher. She was a very gentle and kind person with a terrific smile.
She played an important part in my
life. My mother, Pauline Kinsey Brown, was her younger
sister.
When
I was born, my mother was hospitalized for a long period of
time with tuberculosis. Christina took me from the hospital
in Canton to raise with her three boys. She was my
surrogate mother.
She will be buried in the Crawford Addition to the Augusta Cemetery on November 16, 2006, just one day after the burial of her sister, Dorothy Kinsey Locke.
Everyone loved Christina -
especially me.
Bette Ina Brown
