Gerald Russell "Jerry" Mills
Age 62, of Minerva, passed away Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 at his home. Jerry was born in Canton, Ohio on Mar. 9, 1948, the son of the late Rex E and Doris (Thompson) Mills.  He was the owner of the Normandy Inn in Minerva for 35 years.  He loved hunting, fishing and golf.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 375, VFW Post 4120, Carrollton Post.

Jerry is also survived by a brother, Ralph (Barbara) Mills of Miami, Fla.; nephew, Michael Mills of Miami, Fla., niece Tory Mills, long time girlfriend Arden Vance of Minerva, grandson, Dylan Vance, granddaughter T.J. Vance and great-grandson Sebastian "Scooter" Monk of Minerva.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church of Minerva at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 7th, with Mr. Ralph Norman officiating.  Calling hours will be held Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Bartley Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.

It was Jerry's desire to continue the Thanksgiving Dinner at the Normandy.  A fund is being established in the Stark Community Fund for that purpose.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Stark Community Foundation in Jerry's name. Friends unable to attend may register online at our website:
