Dorothy M. Locke

Dorothy M. Locke, 89, of Augusta, died Nov. 11, 2006, in her home. Born Nov. 25, 1916, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Emma (Hiner) Kinsey.

She was a housewife and lifetime member of Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta.  She was an electrical switch box assembler for 8 years for the former American Switch in Minerva and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  She graduated from Augusta High School in 1934 and was a lifetime resident of Augusta and Augusta Twp.

She is survived by a son, Don (Theresa) Locke, Jr. of Minerva; daughter, Karen (William) Gruszecki of Lisbon; brother, William Kinsey of East Canton; three sisters, Christina Ossler, who died Nov. 12, 2006, Emma Rhodes and Evelyn Kinsey of Cleveland; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don C. Locke, Sr. who died Nov. 6, 1982; three brothers, Thomas, Lafayette, and George Kinsey; and two sisters, Pauline Brown and Mary Turnipseed.

Funeral services were held Nov. 15 at Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta with Rev. James Rice and Rev. James Ford officiating.  Burial was in Augusta Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice Assoc., 885 Sawburg Rd., Ste. 106, Alliance, OH, 44601 or Stillfork Presbyterian Church, Box 77, Augusta, OH, 44607.

Dorothy M. Locke, 89, a lifetime resident of Augusta and Augusta Township, died Saturday morning, Nov. 11, 2006, in her home. She was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Wellsville to Thomas and Emma (Hiner) Kinsey. She was a housewife and lifetime member of the Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. She worked as an electrical switch box assembler for eight years for former American Switch in Minerva. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1934.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don C. Locke Sr., who died Nov. 6, 1982; two sisters, Pauline Brown and Mary Turnipseed; and three brothers Thomas, Lafayette, and George Kinsey.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen (William) Gruszecki of Lisbon; a son, Don (Theresa) Locke Jr. of Minerva; three sisters, Christina Ossler of Carrollton, Emma Rhodes of Cleveland and Evelyn Kinsey of Cleveland; a brother, William Kinsey of East Canton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta with the Rev. James Rice and the Rev. James Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Augusta Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice Assoc., 885 Sawburg Ave., Suite 106, Alliance, Ohio 44601 or Stillfork Presbyterian Church, Box 77, Augusta, Ohio.
