Sara Kubankin
Sara Lynne Kubankin, age 41, of Salem died Sunday
Feb. 21, 2010 in her home following a courageous battle
with pancreatic cancer. She was born July 2, 1968 in
Alliance to Linda (Kinsey) Riesen of Alliance and the
late Jim Riesen.
She is a Rural Carrier for the Beloit Post Office where
she had worked for 15 years. She is a member of the
Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta and was a
supporter of the Village Variety 4-H Club in Mahoning
County and a 1986 graduate of West Branch High School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her
husband, Victor Kubankin who she married Aug. 6, 1994,
children, Kelly (Brian) Gilbert of Salem, Kevin (Maria)
Kubankin of Beloit, and Brandon Johnson of Salem, 2
sisters, Charlene Riesen and Frank Evans of Homeworth
and Marcia Phillis of Alliance, 2 brothers, Matthew and
Steve Riesen both of Salem, 7 grandchildren; Aaron,
Korra, Jazmin, Gage, Gabriel, Starr, and Kayla.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the
Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta with Rev.
Virginia Birks and Rev. James Rice officiating. Burial
will be in Augusta Cemetery. Calling hours will be
Tuesday 6-8 PM in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home
in Minerva. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Dante Club in Alliance for the Sara Kubankin Memorial
