NORMAN E. GREEN
 

Norman E. Green, 78, of Franklin, NC, and formerly of Canton, died Dec. 23, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center in Canton, following a brief illness.

He was born February 28, 1927, in Otto, NC, the son of the late Andrew Franklin and Hattie Maybelle Brown Green.  He married Ida Maybell Green on Oct. 30, 1948. 

Norman was a member of the Canton Masonic Lodge.  He worked for the Timken Company as an inspector for 31 years.  After retiring in 1983, he spent the last 22 years on his beloved farm in Franklin, NC. 

He is survived by a son, Norman (Nancy) Green of Carrollton; two daughters, Myra Jeanette Green Wesley of Canton, OH, and Darlean (Oscar) Addis, Jr., of Kensington, OH; a brother, Jerry (Shirley) Green of Tiger, GA; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Ida, on Feb. 22, 2005; a sister, Bonnie Lawson; and three brothers, Claude Allen Green, Andrew Frank Green, and Rev. Furman Green.

Funeral services will be held Dec. 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton, with Rev. David Powell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Augusta Cemetery.
