Richard Lee Garrett, 68, of Augusta, died suddenly in Alliance Community Hospital, Sunday, August 8, 2004.  Born in Triadelphia, OH, March 31, 1936, he was the son of the late Luther and Agnes (Maxwell) Garrett.

He worked as a lead man at Caraustar in Minerva and was a member of Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lou (Turnipseed) Garrett; sons, Richard Thomas Garrett of Augusta, Robert Lee (Debbie) Garrett of Augusta, David Allen (Melonie) Garrett of Minerva; sisters, Doris Burrows of Minerva, Barbara Kail of Secretary, MD; brothers, Wayne Garrett of Minerva and Eldon Garrett of Mechanicstown; grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin Garrett of Augusta, Cru and Brent Garrett of Minerva and his dog Jessie.

Funeral services will be held at the Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2004 with Rev. James Rice officiating.  Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held in the Bartley Funeral Home, Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Friends unable to attend may register online at our website www.bartleyfuneralhome.com.
