Bernice Ebner, age 91, of Decatur, GA, and formerly of Minerva, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 16, 2008, in the Dekalb Medical Center in GA. She was born February 26, 1917, in Augusta to Embert and Lillie (Hawkins) Leatherberry. She is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church and the Alpha Rho Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her husband, John V. Ebner, who died in 1990; a sister, Josephine Iden; three brothers: Wilbur, Lloyd, and Victor Leatherberry. She is survived by her children: Bonnie (Bob) Liber of Douglasville, GA, Patti (Lee) Bradford of Decatur, GA, John (Janie) Ebner of Temple, GA five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brother, Paul Leatherberry of Columbus; sister, Erla (Ernie) Courtheyn of Canton; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Minerva First Christian Church with Mr. Ralph Norman officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 6-9 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.
