Paul Brown
Paul teaches Typing, Computer Technology, and Business and Office
Education classes at Tohono O'odham High school. He has been
at T.O.H.S. since the school opened in 1987. He has a
Bachelor's degree from Milligan College in Tennessee; has taught in
public school in Ohio and Arizona, and has also taught in a prison
in Ohio.
His Business and Office Education classes manage the student store
at T.O.H.S. Students work with purchasing, pricing,
advertising, personnel and payroll, and accounting while enrolled in
this class. Mr. Brown has successfully developed the Computer
Technology class for students to learn how computers work by
building computers and installing software. He has been
instrumental in training staff members, as well as students to use
computers. He and some of his students recently assisted in
setting up the internet labs at T.O.H.S. Students can be found
using computers in his room during breakfast, lunch and after school
as well as during class times. There is always something
interesting going on.
Mr. Brown has been recognized by the staff members at Tohono O'odham
High School as Peer-of-the-Year in 1994-95. Staff members who
recommended him for this earlier recognition and for recognition
this year, repeatedly state that he is always willing and makes time
to assist them with their needs. They rely on him for advice
on instructional techniques as well as any computer related
information they need. He has also served as Acting Principal
when the Principal is away from campus.
Paul Brown is a dedicated teacher recognized by his students and
colleagues as supportive, innovative, and reliable. He is an
asset to Tohono O'odham High School.
