Edith M. BrownEdith M. Brown, age 88, of Minerva, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 in Aultman Woodlawn following a short illness. She was born January 24, 1917 in Buchtel to Vollie and May (Stokoe) Erb. She had worked for Cummings Bank in Carrollton, was a bookkeeper and a housewife. She is a member of the Augusta Christian Church and a Past Matron and 62 year member of the Augusta Chapter and Esther Chapter #120 OES. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1935. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harley L. Brown, who died in 1996; an infant daughter; a sister, Lela Hawk; five brothers, David and Edward Richards, Peter, Oscar and Lawrence Erb; a granddaughter, Lisa Evans. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dean (Barbara) Hochstetler of Malvern, Mrs. Raymond (Beverly) Freetage of Ellettsville, IN; a son, Samuel and wife, Marge Brown of Malvern; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Ellen) Harsh of Salem; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Mark Black officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Eastern Star services at 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Augusta Christian Church or the Lisa Brown Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Malvern First Christian Church.
