Recollections of Myrna A. Baughman

Written by Paul E. Brown - 1995

Myrna and Jess Baughman deserve special treatment by me as I knew them both.

Jess, an old bachelor, and a tight one, too, caught up with Myrna, an old maid, one of the many Leatherberrys, and they lived in the old Leatherberry home (the big house) across from Harley's {Brown} and slightly west.

Jess has a warm spot in my heart as he took me with him to Minerva early in the morning when he was going to work and I was going to school at Minerva High.  To avoid walking I would ride with him when I could.  Tight as he was, he was nice and I remember him as such.

Myrna, Marie's {Leatherberry Brown} sister and Leora's {Brown Demeter} aunt, had a limp like Mrs. Rowley.  She had lived alone for many years after her dad, George, died and it was very nice that two quiet people, Jesse and Myrna, could marry and have some nice years together.

I helped with the estates of each of them. Good citizens of Augusta.
